As all jewelry will tarnish with time once exposed to the elements in the environment, taking proper care of your jewelry is crucial to slow down the tarnishing process.

What To Avoid?

DO NOT wear them in the shower or go swimming in them.
Avoid contact with perfume, hair sprays, chlorine, sea water, lotions and detergents as they may contain bleaches and unknown chemicals.

How Do I Clean It?
If you have to wash them, note that you need to dry them off thoroughly with a soft damp cloth.
Use a polishing cloth with a small amount of tarnish remover made specific for each type of metal, rinse thoroughly and polish until your desired color is achieved.

Storage
Storing them in airtight mini ziplock bags is the simplest way to keep them away from air and other oxidization catalysts.


Rhodium silver

What is Rhodium Silver?
Rhodium (a member of the platinum family) is a highly reflective and hard wearing precious metal used to plate jewelry to prevent tarnish.

What To Avoid?
DO NOT use silver dips or silver polishing cloths as it’ll wear off the rhodium quickly.

925 Sterling Silver

What Is 925 Sterling Silver?
Sterling silver is a alloy mixture of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (often copper). As pure silver is a very soft metal, mixing it with another metal is essential to produce a stronger product.

What To Avoid?
Minimize contact with wool, paints, latex, rubber bands
Avoid contact with perfume, hair sprays, chlorine, sea water, lotions and detergents as they may contain bleaches and unknown chemicals.

How Do I Clean It?
Polish and clean your 925 silver jewelry regularly as the tarnish will tend to get stubborn after some time and professional polishing may be needed.
It's recommended to polish your 925 silver with a polishing cloth before using it.
If you have to wash them, use a little soap and water with a soft dry cloth to dry your wet jewelry.
Avoid drying with tissue papers or paper hand towels, always use a 925 silver polishing cloth.

Storage
Always store in a cool dry environment, humidity accelerates the tarnish process.

Important! Never allow your 925 sterling silver to be in contact with other metals or rough surfaces as this will result in scratches

What Is Gold-filled Jewellery?
Gold-filled jewelry is a less expensive yet excellent option to 14K gold jewelry. A thick layer of gold is bonded to a base metal such as sterling silver or rhodium. As the entire outer layer of gold-filled jewellery is layered with 14K, the appearance is identical to a 14K gold piece but at a fraction of the cost. To be labelled as Gold-filled, the gold content must be at least 1/20th the weight of the total piece.

Since gemstones varies in type and sizes, it's near impossible to specify the right method to clean them, therefore the safest bet is to rub gently with a soft damp cloth to remove any dust.
Extra care should be taken when cleaning freshwater pearls due to their fragility.
