( theGiftaway ) :: bprdesigns

You might have seen Beth's slumped wine cheese plates in several treasuries, or the front page on ETSY. Who would have thought wine bottles could become cheese plates!? I was wowed.
Not only it is eco-friendly and thoughtful. It says class and creativity. It is the perfect gift to bring to a party. Imagine serving up some savoury fruit cheese, grapes with a glass of French Cardonnay or German Riesling to your guest! Perfecto!
The good news is, it does not cost a fortune to own one of this statement home decor! and now you can try winning one! *claps*

win: a cheese plate made out of slumped wine bottle!

"I started doing these as a lark and they have turned out to be a big hit.
They make a great hostess gift."

Please share a little about you and your shop
My name is Beth and I live in Portland, Oregon. I am married and have one son who is 24 and on his own! I make fused glass creations in my shop here at home. I like to make artistic pieces that are also functional -- I think it keeps my right brain and left brain marching together!

How did you get started selling and making these lovely items!
I got started working with glass by taking a couple of classes through the local Community College and fell in love with all the colors and textures! When I retired from my "paying" job a few years ago, I decided to see if I could turn it from a hobby to an avocation. Once I filled up my house and had repeatedly gifted all my friends and family, it was clear that I would have to either start to sell my work or buy a bigger house! Selling on Etsy seemed easier than moving...

Tell us what inspires you?
My inspiration comes from nature and the riot of color out there in our world. I live in a place that has lots of natural beauty and the bright colors are all around me. I love to garden and I have a huge bed of dahlias that are the joy of my summer! I love to take that color and put it into glass creations so you can have it indoors all year round.

What is the most fun/wild/exciting/interesting party that you host!
I love entertaining and I use my own bottle cheese plates all the time!. My favorite party has to be hosting a murder mystery dinner party with friends that had a Chicago gangland theme. I couldn't believe how easy it was for everyone to get into character, even the shy husbands!
